I have numerous tasks here but my most important role is try and keep out entire orgnization moving in the right direction. It is a great deal of fun and brings much excitement to the entity when we release new products, particularly something as significant as Flash-Point. This takes a huge team effort and the end result is always worth the struggle. We are blessed to have a very talented group of people in this organization and I simply try to ensure that everyone has the opportunity and the tools they need to continually stretch our intelectual muscle and consistantly deliver the finest cycling components in the world.

Eurobike in Germany was a resounding success for Zipp and the Flash-Point unveiling went off very well. Redefining a product category is always difficult but the harder you work at it, generally the better the reaction.
Having now returned from Germany; this weekend we have representatives in Montreal for the Canadian Trade Show as well as Milan for the Italian Bicycle Trade Show. This time of year is crazy as the bike undustry turns itself inside out trying to show everything to everybody, nearly every weekend it seems. Montreal is always a very interesting exhibition as we sell dealer direct in Canada and our customers in Quebec are some of the most fervent cycling enthusiasts we have ever met with a definite penchant for most things European. It is an extremely strong cycling city, and is a great place to host a show. In Milan, once you have dealt with the traffic, found parking and are actually in the Exhibition hall, the show is very cool. This year it is a brand new venue that none of us have seen but the passion for cycling runs so deep in Italy that the enthusiam of all involved makes for one of the busiest and noisiest shows on the circuit. Flash-Point will be making its first apearance in these two countries at the same time. This is a very exciting time for our whole industry.

Industry Trade Shows are vital to this industry and probably many others. For the keen cyclist and all the organizations involved in the sport, September 1st is when it all begins. This is the first Trade Show of the season and will be the grand unveiling of Flash-Point wheels to the entire industry. FP and Zipp will spend days in each place to show all of our newest products and latest innovations to Bicycle Shop Owners so that we can eventually get them into the hands of the cycling entusiasts worldwide.
The show schedule is quite brutal for a fairly short time period, starting in Germany in Sept, then Canada and Italy 10 days later, Interbike in Las Vegas and the French Show at the end of September, Australia and England in mid October and Japan in November. While folks from FP and Zipp will not be at every one of these shows, we do have to ensure that we have product there.
It is crazy busy but we love this time of year, stay tuned and we will try and get some Euro scoop for you while we are there!
